Muhammad Wilkerson questionable for game with Bills

The Jets will have Sheldon Richardson back on their defensive line for Thursday night’s game against the Bills, but they’re not willing to say whether Muhammad Wilkerson will be joining him at defensive end.

Wilkerson has been listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report of the week because of a toe injury that made him a limited participant at the team’s practices this week. While the Jets want to keep some mystery about his status, coach Todd Bowles didn’t seem too concerned about letting the world know Tuesday that he doesn’t have any concern about Wilkerson’s availability.

That likely means Wilkerson would have been listed as probable when that designation was available in past years and it seems linebacker David Harris would have fallen into that group as well. He’s questionable because of a shoulder injury, but played last weekend and practiced this week.

Bowles said rookie linebacker Jordan Jenkins, who is listed as doubtful, is probably going to miss a second straight game with a calf injury. Quarterback Bryce Petty remains out with the shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason.

Why did they get rid of the probable designation?

Toes are tricky, they can put one on the IR.

He had a toenail removed. It’s not a toe injury.
