This week opened with speculation that Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson might not be able to play against the Rams in Los Angeles this Sunday because of an ankle injury.

The last two days have brought little reason to think that will be the case, however. The Seahawks have not added a quarterback to the 53-man roster, opting to sign rookie Jake Heaps to the practice squad in the only move at the position, and coach Pete Carroll said that the team didn’t view the injury as anything serious.

On Wednesday, Carroll provided further reason to think Wilson will be in the lineup at the Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. The coach said that Wilson will be a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, something that wouldn’t be the case if the Seahawks and Wilson had much fear about the possibility of aggravating an injury that would cloud his availability for any games.

That should put an end to any nerves about Wilson’s ability to go this week and, based on the way Monday night went for the Rams, give the Seahawks a jolt of confidence as they prepare to face a team that beat them twice last season.
