The Packers are preparing to face Sam Bradford in Sunday’s game against the Vikings, and that appears to be wise.
Bradford took all of the first-team snaps at practice today, according to Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has refused to say who he’ll start on Sunday and probably won’t make any announcement at all until game time, but all indications are that Shaun Hill will be benched in favor of Bradford. Although Hill was competent in Sunday’s win over the Titans, the Vikings didn’t trade a first-round pick and a fourth-round pick for Bradford in order to settle for “competent” play from Hill.
The hope in Minnesota is that Bradford can be a lot better than competent and can lead the Vikings to the playoffs, so that first-round pick they sent to Philadelphia is late in the first round. If Bradford can lead the Vikings to a win over the Packers on Sunday, that would go a long way toward getting the Vikings on a path to the playoffs.
