Colts get a little healthier in secondary, but T.Y. Hilton sits out practice

The Colts have been beset by injuries in the secondary recently, but the situation has improved a bit this week.

Safety Clayton Geathers was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, which marks his first day on the practice field since the spring. Geathers has been sidelined by a foot injury and his return to the lineup would be welcome as the Colts practiced without rookie T.J. Green as he deals with a knee injury.

Cornerback Darius Butler was also a limited participant for the second straight day. Butler missed the opener with an ankle injury. Cornerbacks Vontae Davis and Patrick Robinson remain on the sideline while Antonio Cromartie remained limited with a hamstring issue.

The news wasn’t quite as good on the offensive side of the ball. Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton was a new addition to the practice report after he sat out Thursday’s session with a knee injury. The Colts will file their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Broncos after Friday’s practice.
