The Giants only had one player listed on Wednesday’s practice report as defensive tackle Robert Thomas sat out with an illness, but Thursday’s edition will have a bigger name on it.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was held out of the team’s session because of a sore shoulder. It’s not clear if that’s a result of anything that happened in Wednesday’s practice.

Art Stapleton of the Bergen Record reports that the team does not consider the issue to be a “big deal,” but that Pierre-Paul is expected to be out for Friday’s practice as well before returning for Saturday’s lighter workout and Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Pierre-Paul played all but two snaps on defense in last Sunday’s win over the Cowboys. He had six tackles and hurried Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott a couple of times during the game.
