Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall needed attention from the team’s medical staff when he landed awkwardly after being tackled by the facemask early in the second quarter Thursday night.

Marshall caught a slant pass and advanced it inside the Bills’ 10-yard line. He was dragged down from behind by Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore and immediately reached for his knee.

He walked to the sideline without assistance, but the game was stopped for a couple minutes while Marshall talked with trainers. Gilmore was flagged for a facemask on the tackle.

The Jets scored two plays later on a short touchdown run by Matt Forte. The PAT gave the Jets a 13-7 lead.

The CBS broadcast said Marshall suffered a left knee injury and was taken to the locker room. He returned to the game on the next Jets series.

The touchdown was Forte’s first with the Jets. The drive covered 66 yards in six plays.

And just like that, two weeks in, and the season is already over for the bills. Start looking at the next draft, maybe that will keep you interested until next season.
