Russell Wilson: Doctors “shocked” by how well ankle has recovered

The initial worry that Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson might be in risk of missing this week’s game against the Rams because of an ankle injury faded away fairly quickly this week.

Wilson hasn’t missed any practice time and while there may still be some lingering concern that Wilson might not be 100 percent come Sunday, there’s little chance he won’t be playing. Wilson deemed himself “ready to roll” on Thursday while also saying that his ankle’s resiliency has marveled the medical community.

“That’s what the doctors and trainers have all been saying is they’re kind of shocked it’s doing this well,” Wilson said, via Curtis Crabtree of PFT and 950 KJR. “Really not any swelling at all or anything like that because I got on it right away and have been hammering it right away. ... Ultimately, I started off in the boot the first night, Sunday night, then Monday morning I just got off of it because I knew I wanted to play on Sunday and I know I can’t play in a boot, so you’ve got to find a way.”

It’s all about the nanobubbles these days.

Wilson has never missed a start since being drafted by the Seahawks in 2012 and that streak is in little danger of ending this weekend.
