Anthony Davis not on Carolina trip due to concussion

Offensive lineman Anthony Davis was not on the trip Friday when the 49ers flew to Charlotte for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers.

Davis suffered a concussion during Thursday’s practice and has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol. The team said Davis has not talked about retiring again, which he had reportedly done last week before the team called his absence from practice as a miscommunication.

Davis played three snaps in last week’s game as a backup tackle. He retired before the 2015 season, in part due to concussions, following five seasons as the team’s starting right tackle.

There was a miscommunication, the doctor held up 3 fingers and A.D. thought it was 6.

    Welcome back, Anthony…

He had the right idea by retiring last year. He would be foolish to keep going. Some people just get hurt more than others and so it goes.

    Be safe and enjoy life…

I hope you people aren’t really that stupid and gullible enough to buy this. How convenient! This guy didn’t get off the bench during the last game because there’s obviously something going down between him and the head coach. Now, suddenly he’s concussed and won’t make the road trip? This guy is deep in Kelly’s doghouse.

Can we please get rid of this loser. He’s a back up at best!!!!
    What’s the problem here?

Honestly in my opinion. Davis and the 49ER organization need to sit down and talk about if he’s serious about his passion for the game of football.

Last year he retires from the NFL days before training camp. Leaving the team clueless about his plans before the draft.

Then he files for reinstatement days before training camp this season. Once again not letting the team know prior to the draft. Hence the Garnett drafting.

Shows up to training camp and was being beat by Trent Brown at RT and asks the coaching staff if he can make the switch to playing guard.

Was named the starting guard and the day before the season starts he once again contemplates retirement and says he no longer wants to play gaurd.

Now he doesn’t even make the trip to Carolina with the team. I’m not saying he’s not injured but I am saying he’s coming across as if he’s not committed.

Their is no one foot in one foot out BS in any job let alone in professional sports. Your either in or out and if your not sure then your OUT!!!

With Kaep’s national anthem drama already an issue. The multiple misstep by the front office. The fanbase does not have anymore patience with all the BS this team constantly has.

But on the bright side, Davis doesn’t have to worry about which bathroom to use. #KeepPounding

Why retire when you get paid not to play? And, yes, anyone who buys this concussion nonsense is a fool.

Not a concussion. Trent Baalke gave him another headache.

I always see you trolling 9ER threads and think it’s funny. The last time your team made the playoffs Facebook or Twitter didn’t even exist and your team JUST celebrated your 1st season since moving back to Oakland of having all your season tickets sold out. Congrats!! You now aren’t blacked out.
