Chris Ivory, Prince Amukamara out for the Jaguars this week

The Jaguars won’t have the guy they planned on being their leading rusher for at least another week.

Per Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars have ruled running back Chris Ivory out for another week, after he spent a few days in the hospital earlier this week.

It’s hardly a surprise that he won’t play against the Chargers this week, since he hasn’t practiced since rejoining the team after an unspecified emergency situation.

Cornerback Prince Amukamara will also be out this week because of a hamstring strain. He didn’t practice this week.

The good news was they got right tackle Jeremy Parnell (thigh) and Dante Fowler (illness) back on the practice field.

But the lack of Amukamara will test their depth, since Aaron Colvin is serving the second game of his four-game suspension.

Bad. Prince was all over the place last week making tackles and batting down passes. Jacksonville will have to score 30 to compete.

That didn’t take Prince long. As a Giants (and Prince fan) it was bittersweet watching him make plays for the Jags last week. Stinks that he’ll be out. Hopefully it’s not for long and hopefully he still has that 80’s action movie fade. Aka, the best hair in pro sports.

Damn injuries already killing us. Either way we have to beat the Chargers.

As a NYG fan, I was sad to see Prince go, but the one knock on his game was/is durability. Hopefully he can bounce back fast and remain at a high level when he comes back.

This is a winnable game for the Jags. If the Jags are real (and want to prove it) they need to win this game.
