Jerry Hughes fined for low hit on Flacco

Bills outside linebacker Jerry Hughes was fined $18,231 for a low hit on Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in last Sunday’s game, PFT has confirmed.

Hughes sacked Flacco twice in the game but was fined for hitting Flacco below the knees on a play during which Hughes appeared to be diving to prevent Flacco from running, but Flacco threw the ball just before the hit.

Hughes is familiar with the league’s fine system. He racked up fines of more than $30,000 from one game last season, and was fined more than $22,000 for using abusive language towards an official in 2014.

For his part Flacco was fined $5,000 for being so mediocre.
