Joey Bosa out this week, may miss Week Three too

The Chargers say they’ve signed Bosa to a four-year contract. The wait for defensive end Joey Bosa to make his NFL debut will continue for at least another week.

The Chargers ruled Bosa out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury. The Chargers didn’t have to rule Bosa out last week as he had a roster exemption and it was essentially a formality this week as Bosa never got on the practice field.

Bosa has practiced with the Chargers once since signing his rookie deal in the final days of the offseason and hasn’t worked in pads at all since his final game at Ohio State. That makes it fairly unsurprising to see Ian Rapoport of NFL Media report that Bosa is “no sure thing” to play when the Chargers travel to Indianapolis in Week Three.

Bosa is the only player on the Chargers injury report, although the loss of wide receiver Keenan Allen to a torn ACL should have plenty of impact on the team’s fortunes this weekend and in the weeks to come.
