Jonathan Stewart listed as questionable, but he’s going to play

The Panthers are listing running back Jonathan Stewart as questionable, but only because they have to list him as something.

Via Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, the Panthers listed Stewart that way mainly because there is no probable designation to give him after he was limited in practice this week with an ankle injury.

“I don’t know, he’s questionable,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera said. “Yes, I expect him to play.”

Stewart had 15 carries for 64 yards in last week’s game against the Broncos, and he’s critical to their game plan because if he’s running it, quarterback Cam Newton isn’t.

The Panthers also listed backup safety Dean Marlowe as questionable, after he missed last week’s opener with a hamstring injury.

I’d love to see the stats on the percentage of games in his career that Stewart has not been listed on the injury report. It seems like he’s always hurting.

true, he almost never seems to complete a full season healthy.
