Rams list Todd Gurley (rest) as questionable (by mistake)

The NFL changed their injury report procedures this offseason, eliminating the probable tag that used to be used for players who were certain to play.

Under the old system, players who rested at any point during the week would be listed as probable but the new system has no spot for players with injuries (or rest) if they’re expected to play. For example, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t on the final Seahawks report of the week despite an ankle injury because Seattle is starting him on Sunday.

According to the Rams, it’s not certain that running back Todd Gurley will join them. Gurley is listed as questionable, although it really seems the only question about him making it to Sunday is the same one we all face about making it to Sunday.

Gurley rested on Wednesday before practicing fully on Thursday and Friday. Unless Jeff Fisher takes a look at Gurley on Sunday morning and decides he needs a nap more than he needs to play in the game, Gurley is certain to be on the field for the team’s return to Los Angeles.

We won’t rule that out nor will we deny the day would be a lot more amusing if that’s how things go down.

UPDATE 6:48 p.m. ET: It turns out that the Rams listed Gurley on their injury report by mistake. He will play Sunday.
