The Vikings started the week with a long list of injured players and coach Mike Zimmer announced Friday that at least two of them are going to miss Sunday’s game against the Packers.
Cornerback Xavier Rhodes will be out for the second straight week because of a knee injury suffered just before the team beat the Titans last Sunday. Trae Waynes joined Terence Newman in the starting lineup with Captain Munnerlyn joining them in sub packages.
That trio will have to be sharp against Aaron Rodgers and company and they’ll have to do it without any help from defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd up front. Floyd, who played 25 snaps in the opener, is also dealing with a knee injury and missed practice all this week.
Left tackle Matt Kalil returned to practice on Friday after missing the first two days to rest a hip injury. Zimmer didn’t rule him out, which would seem to make him a pretty good bet to play in the first game at the Vikings’ new home.
