The Vikings haven’t gotten what they would have hoped for out of Adrian Peterson tonight.

Now they just have to hope they haven’t lost him.

Peterson was just helped off the field with an apparent leg injury, and is being helped to the locker room, unable to put any weight on his right leg.

Peterson has been limited to 19 yards on 12 carries, but he’s obviously the focal point of their entire offense, and a blow they can’t afford having already lost quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a season-ending knee injury.

UPDATE 10:59 p.m. ET: The Vikings announced Peterson would not return with a knee injury.
