Jimmy’s down. And out for the rest of the day.

Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo won’t return after suffering a right shoulder injury in the second quarter, the team announced.

That leaves Jacoby Brissett as the only remaining quarterback for the Patriots, since they were carrying just two during Tom Brady’s suspension. Wide receiver Julian Edelman, a college quarterback at Kent State would be their emergency quarterback.

Garoppolo was brilliant before leaving after being drilled to the ground by Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso. He was 18-of-27 for 234 yards and three touchdowns, and the Patriots had a commanding 24-3 halftime lead.
