The Lions suffered a big loss on defense during the first drive of today’s game against the Titans.

Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah, one of the best players on the team, suffered an ankle injury and limped to the locker room. The team said he’s questionable to return.

If Ansah is gone for any significant period of time, it would represent a big blow to Detroit’s defense. So far, however, the Lions’ defense is playing well without Ansah: Shortly after Ansah left the game, the Detroit defense swarmed Titans running back DeMarco Murray in the end zone for a safety.

The Lions lead 2-0 in the first quarter.
