The Vikings wanted to ease Sam Bradford into things, which is why he didn’t play last week.
And in the context of his first start, they made sure to do the same.
Bradford’s first pass was to the guy he’s going to get it to most often, a short swing pass to Adrian Peterson for no gain. He did complete a 15-yarder to Adam Thielen for a first down, but then their progress stalled and they punted to the Packers.
It was a safe set of downs, for a team that figures to play conservatively anyway.
