Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo continues to be out with a compression fracture in his L1 vertebrate. But there some good news hiding in plain sight before Sunday’s game at Washington.

Romo, per multiple league sources, threw 15-20 passes in pregame warmups on Sunday at Washington. He maxed out at 20 yards.

The goal continues to be a return by Romo to the lineup in Week Eight, the first game following the team’s bye. That night, the Cowboys face the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

Romo suffered the injury in the team’s third preseason game. He initially was expected to miss 6-10 weeks. A Week Eight returns puts him on the outer edge of that range.
