Aaron Rodgers: “We’re not going to overreact”

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants everyone to relax after last night’s loss to the Vikings.

Although Rodgers’ passing numbers declined last season and are continuing to decline this season, Rodgers said he doesn’t think the Packers’ offense needs wholesale changes.

“I don’t think this is anything to get super crazy about,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers completed 20 of 36 for 213 yards with one touchdown, one interception, three fumbles and five sacks on Sunday night.

“Well, we’re not going to overreact,” Rodgers said. “It’s been two weeks. We’ve been not quite finding our rhythm yet, but we’ve got some guys working in that haven’t worked together a whole lot. So we’re going to trust the process and believe we can get this thing turned around.”

The reality, however, is it’s been more than two weeks: Rodgers’ struggles go back to last year. Although his career passer rating is 103.8, Rodgers has now gone 14 straight games without a 100 passer rating. Rodgers may be right that it’s not time to overreact, but it is time for Rodgers to play better than he has recently.
