The Browns announced Monday that center Cameron Erving has been released from the hospital after Erving suffered a pulmonary contusion Sunday.
The team’s statement said Erving’s playing status will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
Erving was hospitalized after experiencing cramps and discomfort in his chest and ribs, and further testing revealed what’s essentially a bruised lung. He left Sunday’s game vs. the Ravens on the final drive.
A first-round pick in 2015, Erving is in his first season as the team’s starting center. John Greco moved over from right guard to play center when Erving left Sunday’s game; the Browns don’t have another experienced center on the roster.
