DeMarcus Ware to have surgery Tuesday, miss a month

Trevor Siemian talks to Dan Patrick about which Broncos' player has the nicest car and how his parents reacted when he told them he was the starting QB for the Broncos.

The Broncos are going to be without veteran pass-rusher DeMarcus Ware for the next month, but they hope to have him back for the second half of the season.

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said Ware will have surgery Tuesday to put a plate in his arm to stabilize a broken ulna.

“Let us go get this thing taken care of and we’ll probably have a better answer,’’ Kubiak said of the timetable, via Mike Klis of KUSA. “Obviously we know we’re going to get him back so that’s very encouraging.’’

Ware will likely wear a heavily padded cast when he returns, but at least they know he’ll return.

He had a pair of sacks already this year, the second year in a row a fast start was derailed by an injury. Last year it was back problems which limited his effectiveness, though he was solid in the postseason.

While Ware’s out, they’re going to be looking for more contributions from Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett.
