The Redskins will place veteran nose tackle Kedric Golston on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, Redskins coach Jay Gruden told reporters Monday.

Golston, 33, is in his 11th season with the Redskins. He’s started 53 of 142 career games since being drafted by the Redskins in the sixth round in 2006.

Gruden said the Redskins will replace Golston on the roster by promoting rookie defensive end Matt Ioannidis from the practice squad. The Redskins drafted Ioannidis in the fifth round last April.

I’m still pretty annoyed we didn’t use a high pick on a D-lineman. I know that’s hindsight, but given the state of the D line, it was also common sense.

Matt Ioannidis got pushed around a lot in the preseason. He’s not going to make them better.

I agree with Su’a and Josh… Please don’t fault the players much in this current situation. The responsibility is solely on the coaches shoulders. Their scheme and play calling is atrocious!! The reason we lost against Pittsburg was mainly due to Joe Barry.. The loss to Dallas … This belongs to the DC, OC AND the HC. The players are selling out, out there. We have the talent but the coaching is horrible.

Scot McCloughan needs a mirror, and then look in the mirror and say it’s my fault.

In consecutive drafts the Redskins could have taken DL in the first 3 rounds but he didn’t, instead he took an OG which was a need, but @ #5, I can’t get on board with that. A pass rusher after they had drafted one the year before. A running back when they had a pro bowler. A wide receiver who would be 4th on the current depth chart. A dime LB who plays less than 1/3 of the plays on defense every game and a corner who is coming off a major knee injury from last year.

So when he was hired he said “bigger and stronger” right? What happened to that plan?
