The Redskins will place veteran nose tackle Kedric Golston on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, Redskins coach Jay Gruden told reporters Monday.

Golston, 33, is in his 11th season with the Redskins. He’s started 53 of 142 career games since being drafted by the Redskins in the sixth round in 2006.

Gruden said the Redskins will replace Golston on the roster by promoting rookie defensive end Matt Ioannidis from the practice squad. The Redskins drafted Ioannidis in the fifth round last April.
