In a town whose best-known fictional sports figure famously suffered a broken nose in his worldwide debut, it’s fitting that a member of the Philadelphia’s very real football team has a broken nose, too.
Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks sustained a broken nose (along with a quad contusion) on Monday night at Chicago.
“Not really sure [how it happened],” coach Doug Pederson told reporters on Tuesday. “He took a shot to the forehead, helmet-hand type of combination.”
Pederson said Kendricks is “day-to-day” and likely to be available for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. Hopefully, no one will need to cut Kendricks’ eyelid during the game.
