Chance Warmack headed for injured reserve

Guard Chance Warmack was the rare high draft pick from the Ruston Webster era to escape the axe wielded by new Titans General Manager Jon Robinson this offseason, but he may have played his final snap with the team anyway.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey announced Wednesday that Warmack is headed to injured reserve after choosing to have surgery to repair a hand injury. Warmack is eligible to return from injured reserve in eight weeks, but Mularkey said that the injury may be enough to shut him down for the season.

If that’s the case, Warmack may be done with the team altogether. His contract is up at the end of the season and the Titans haven’t had much interest in carrying on with anyone who was on the team before this season.

Mularkey said that Josh Kline and Brian Schwenke will be working at right guard now that Warmack is out of the picture.

He coulda’ chosen to play. The Titans won’t forget it.

He was already gone. Titans declined his fifth-year option. Why should he play through a painful hand injury if they won’t commit to him for next year? That’s why he chose his future over the Titans. Completely understandable.

Warmack has NOT played like a top ten pick, I don’t think he will be missed

Warmack was supposed to be elite at his position and turned out to be a bit better than average. That’s it. The drop-off this Sunday and here on out may not be too significant. In fact, his replacement (Tretola, Kelly, or Kline) may prove to be a notable improvement.

Wonder if another team will give him a … um… chance next season. He seems to have worn out his welcome in TN.

Let me give you one reason… he’s playing this year for next years contract with whatever team will sign him. That should have been incentive enough.

Is there a chance Warmack will ever play again?

Can’t blame him. Who in the world would want to play in Nashville?

Nashville is an awesome city. Most likely 100 times better than whatever craphole you’re from.
