No Wednesday practice for Jets receivers Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker

ARLINGTON, TX - DECEMBER 19: Brandon Marshall #15 and Eric Decker #87 of the New York Jets celebrate after Decker scored on a touchdown pass against the Dallas Cowboys during the fourth quarter at AT&T Stadium on December 19, 2015 in Arlington, Texas. Six days after escaping serious injury when he was tackled by his facemask in a win over the Bills, Jets receiver Brandon Marshall remains injured.

He didn’t practice on Wednesday, with the team identifying both foot and knee problems. PFT reported on Sunday that Marshall has a sprained MCL, even though coach Todd Bowles told reporters last Friday that Marshall is “fine.”

Equally alarming for the Jets was the absence of receiver Eric Decker from practice, with a shoulder injury. Decker has said that he’ll be able to play on Sunday against the Chiefs.

Also absent from practice were guard James Carpenter (calf), linebacker Erin Henderson (foot), and quarterback Bryce Petty (right shoulder).

Running back Matt Forte, another star of last Thursday’s game with 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns, was limited in practice with a knee injury.

And let’s not forget about budding star Quincy Enunwa; he was listed with the designation “ribs.” However, he fully participated in practice.

Quincy Enunwa; he was listed with the designation “ribs.” — Translation: He ate too many Ribs. Or too many McRibs.

The Chiefs will be playing without their top offensive and defensive players. No excuses for either team come Sunday.

My favorite time of year..Regular season SB wins for the Jets come so early and lead to another paper tiger season.

Lots of veterans get Wednesdays off. This won’t be a story until/unless they’re off again tomorrow and Friday.

They’ll both be playing on Sunday, 100% guaranteed.
