The Patriots listed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, which is in line with the team’s overall approach when it comes to keeping the possibility that Garoppolo plays on Thursday alive.
With Garoppolo’s chief limitation being his ability to use his throwing arm as a result of a right shoulder injury, it remains hard to see him in the lineup against the Texans this week. Rookie Jacoby Brissett would be the starter with no other quarterbacks on the roster and word early in the week was that they wouldn’t be adding another one.
They did look at a couple of them on Tuesday, though. According to multiple reports, they worked out former Texans quarterback T.J. Yates and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that they also had former Falcons backup Sean Renfree in for a look.
They didn’t sign either player, although they could still make a move in the next two days if they become convinced of the need to have another healthy body for this week’s game.
