Patriots worked out T.J. Yates, Sean Renfree Tuesday

The Patriots listed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, which is in line with the team’s overall approach when it comes to keeping the possibility that Garoppolo plays on Thursday alive.

With Garoppolo’s chief limitation being his ability to use his throwing arm as a result of a right shoulder injury, it remains hard to see him in the lineup against the Texans this week. Rookie Jacoby Brissett would be the starter with no other quarterbacks on the roster and word early in the week was that they wouldn’t be adding another one.

They did look at a couple of them on Tuesday, though. According to multiple reports, they worked out former Texans quarterback T.J. Yates and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that they also had former Falcons backup Sean Renfree in for a look.

They didn’t sign either player, although they could still make a move in the next two days if they become convinced of the need to have another healthy body for this week’s game.

What an odd coincidence the Pat’s talked to a former Texans QB right before they play the Texans.

Dumb haters will no doubt falsely claim this is Belichick lying when he said they didn’t intend to add another QB, without appreciating the simple fact that if Brissett gets seriously injured on Thursday night Pats plans would have to change again, needing another backup or starter for JimmyG in week 4.

Pats should sign Yates and start him immediately! After all, he’s WON A PLAYOFF GAME. Besides he’s a HARD WORKER who INSPIRES HIS TEAMMATES and MAKES THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM PLAY HARDER!!

Why is he being blackballed? If you don’t act now, he may be forced to go play baseball to stay in the limelight!

Did I get that right, Tebowmaniacs?

Median recovery time for AC joint injury in NFL is 10+ days, JG likely never going to play.

BB just wants the texans to prepare for as many QBs as possible… likewise no doubt the pats dbs can recite all of tom savage and brandon wheedon’s previous coaches and what schemes they run best.
