Saints cornerback P.J. Williams headed to injured reserve

P.J. Williams is apparently something far less than “fine.”

According to Alex Marvez of the Sporting News, the Saints cornerback is being placed on injured reserve after sustaining a frightening -looking concussion last week.

There were early reports that Williams would recover and return to the field, but that’s apparently no longer the case.

Williams was kneed in the head twice while making a tackle, appeared to be unconscious, and was immobilized and carted off the field after being down for 10 minutes.

Though he showed some signs of progress, the situation was either worse than reported or the Saints needed the roster spot with other injuries at the position.

While watching the game, I thought he might have broken his neck. The first shot bent it badly and the second one hit him as he was going down. Very lucky to not have spinal damage

Could have heard a pin drop after they showed the replay at The Met. Wish him well, hope there’s no permanent damage.

Man, playing cornerback for the Saints is like being drummer for Spinal Tap.

Week 3 and down to free agents and 5th and 6th string CBs. I imagine Julio is licking his chops.
