A.J. Green won’t have to miss game for son’s birth

Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green didn’t participate in practice for the Bengals on Wednesday, but there’s no reason to worry about his availability for Sunday’s visit from the Broncos.

Green was away from the team so that he could be with his wife while she gave birth to their first child. Their son Easton Ace Green was born on Wednesday, leaving the new dad without any need to miss a game to be there for the big moment.

Green said in August that he would skip a game if his son made his arrival close to kickoff. Green’s wife’s due date was September 30, a day after the Bengals will host the Dolphins in a Thursday night game.

That might have been a little too close for comfort if the pregnancy went the distance, but it’s a moot point now that there’s a bouncing baby boy here in time to root the Bengals and his dad on as they try for their second win of the year.

Congrats! Nothing better in the world than being a father.

Easton Ace Green is easily one of the coolest names I’ve ever heard.

Wouldn’t have blamed him for missing a game. Great example for “others” to first be a dad to your kids before anything else.

Oh so he won’t miss time for the birth of his son, but he missed time because he was pooping? Makes a lot of sense

It’s called a C section and they are planned but good for him. need more leaders to set examples to others, even if it was a scheduled C section (which I do not know but they happen everyday). The fact that he was there is the take away.

He could have planned the birth for January, when the Bungals off season starts.

If you really believe it is appropriate for a guy to ask his wife to get a c-section so that he can play in a football game then you need to get a life.

OK, even Bengals fans have to admit this is pretty funny!

Yeah bro, it’s hilarious. So creative, too

nhpats, Bengals fans never think it’s funny when the word Bungals or Bungles is used. I’m sure you don’t think it’s funny when your team is called the Cheaters by some.

Congrats, nothing more special than your first-born. Here’s some advice AJ, don’t let Hill or Gio hold the baby.

Good news for A.J. and Cincy Fans! For a second, I thought he was going to get his 2nd Sunday in a row off.
