A.J. Green won’t have to miss game for son’s birth

Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green didn’t participate in practice for the Bengals on Wednesday, but there’s no reason to worry about his availability for Sunday’s visit from the Broncos.

Green was away from the team so that he could be with his wife while she gave birth to their first child. Their son Easton Ace Green was born on Wednesday, leaving the new dad without any need to miss a game to be there for the big moment.

Green said in August that he would skip a game if his son made his arrival close to kickoff. Green’s wife’s due date was September 30, a day after the Bengals will host the Dolphins in a Thursday night game.

That might have been a little too close for comfort if the pregnancy went the distance, but it’s a moot point now that there’s a bouncing baby boy here in time to root the Bengals and his dad on as they try for their second win of the year.
