Jordy Nelson says he’s still getting better

After missing all of 2015 with a torn ACL, Packers receiver Jordy Nelson was ready to go in time to start this season. But that doesn’t mean he was at his best in Week One.

In fact, Nelson said he was better in Week Two than he was in Week One, and expects to get better still as the year continues.

“This Sunday was better than the week before,” Nelson said. “As long as that continues, I’ll be excited. I felt really good out there in Minnesota. I felt like I ran quite a bit and never got too winded. The couple times I did come out, it was mainly because I was 50 yards downfield and it would take me a while to get back to the line of scrimmage. That was encouraging for myself, and I think that will continue to grow, and I want to be back to where I can play every snap possible that’s out there and take advantage of those opportunities.”

Aaron Rodgers knows he needs to play better, and Nelson sounds like he thinks he can still play better, too. If both of them can get back to playing the way they played in 2014, the Packers’ entire offense may again look like it did in 2014. But it’s been a long time since the Packers’ offense looked that good.
