The Buccaneers have had to deal with their share of drama with tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins already this season, and he just gave them some more.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Seferian-Jenkins was arrested early this morning, and is still in custody after being charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.

He was stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol around 4 a.m., and as of 30 minutes ago, was still in jail.

He pleaded guilty to a DUI charge when he was in college at Washington also.

The Buccaneers open at home Sunday against the Rams, and Seferian-Jenkins might not be fully prepared to contribute since he’s still in jail.

Martin injured and ASJ arrested. So much for the promise of a potent offensive attack….

Some guys have to really hit bottom before they get it. Some guys never get it. This guy has had a whole lot of chances and keeps blowing them, so it might be time for a real wake up call. Like unemployment.

Has Gronkowski-type talent and Aaron Hernandez’ brain.

What a selfish idiot. Martin out for 3 weeks and now the starting TE gets a DUI. Lets see what Cameron Brate can do.

Time to reset the Days Without An Arrest Clock to Zero, boys.

Every player is issued a card from the NFLPA with a number for a car service, free of charge, for this exact scenario. Unbelievable that this is an issue.

So the Bucs went back to the Jerramy Stevens well on draft night… Frustrating as a football fan to see these incredible athletes with talent that only 0.0001% of the people on the earth possess just make poor choices. We are a flawed people. Hopefully this is a wake up call for him, because he looks to have the ability to dominate…

  17. cyberbucs says: Sep 23, 2016 9:26 AM

Way to hurt your team. Stocker is out with an injury. That leaves Brate as only tight end if ASJ is inactive

  18. bassplucker says: Sep 23, 2016 9:33 AM

Buh-bye. Time for Koetter to make a statement, and I don’t mean in front of a mic.

  19. schmitty2 says: Sep 23, 2016 9:37 AM

Jerramy Stevens and now ASJ. Maybe the Bucs will someday learn a lesson and never sign a TE from the University of Washington.

  20. medialovesthecowboys says: Sep 23, 2016 9:44 AM

To be honest, when I was 23, I was in peak physical shape and could stay out until 4am… with virtually no consequence the next day.

    With all of this said…

ASJ needs to be released. He’s either a stupid young man or just does stupid young man things, unfortunately that’s the same thing.

  21. TheDPR says: Sep 23, 2016 9:48 AM

This clown is supposed to be a pro athlete and he’s out until 4am AND drinking in the middle of the work week. Cut him.

  22. riffrafflaff says: Sep 23, 2016 9:48 AM

He just needs another hyphen and he’ll be fine.

  23. burgboy82 says: Sep 23, 2016 9:52 AM

DUI at 4am. 3 hours before your last practice before your first home game? Are you kidding me?

  24. trevor123698 says: Sep 23, 2016 10:13 AM

I just picked up brate in my 2 TE leagues (which are fun btw, especially with 10 teams. 2 qb needs to be the norm as well. leagues where players with 1% ownership are the best. well, anyways I got brate in a good chunk of them. All the two Tight end leagues. they will be pissed at me, lmao.

this guy is a cancer and needs to go. His few contributions are far outweighed by the problems he brings.

I guess Thursday nights are Saturday nights for the players…..didn’t learn after the first one, maybe when you’re looking for a job you will learn from this one….

  29. shaggyjeff says: Sep 23, 2016 10:49 AM

FHP says Austin Seferian-Jenkins was also charged with violating an Ignition Interlock Device restriction from previous DUI arrest in 2013.

So then he does the same thing in 2016 , what a waste !

    CMON MAN !

  35. bucsorbust says: Sep 23, 2016 11:19 AM

Strike two. Don’t throw the guy yet (remember Blount and talib?) But we are getting close. I more unhappy this jerk is driving around drunk when hard working people force themselves out of bed and get on the road to work to make a tough living….at the same time.

  36. bucsorbust says: Sep 23, 2016 11:22 AM

Don’t appeal. Take the two games now. Someone needs to rip this guy a new one. His spectacular td in week one gives him no right to put us in danger on our roads.

  37. annes22 says: Sep 23, 2016 11:23 AM

Here we go again. another loser. Sit him down on Sunday, that’s all he deserves. These players are out of control, and are no more than overpaid idiots.

    ———————————————-

It isn’t a free car service, but your point still stands- he had numerous other options than driving himself and for that he’s an idiot

IMO the more troubling decision from the bucs point of view is that he was out drunk until 4am the night before a practice- i know Fridays are light practices but damn that’s some poor work ethic right there

  39. rollotomasi14 says: Sep 23, 2016 11:36 AM

Well, I guess I should take him off my fantasy roster

  40. skolkr says: Sep 23, 2016 11:45 AM

  41. bucsorbust says: Sep 23, 2016 12:03 PM

Winston tossed for over 4K yards last year with just Evans, VJax, and Brate…

Bucs now minus Doug Martin and Stocker (TE), where Stocker is really just used to block for Martin’s running. Brandon Myers (TE) is still there to catch passes, and you can count on more dinks and dunks to Charles Sims (RB) who is dangerous as a pass catcher in the flat and D backfield. J. Rodgers will do well splitting reps with Sims in running the ball. ASJ or no ASJ…not to worried about offense.
