UTX8IM9oURuw
With both Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown injured, the Browns are turning to third-string quarterback Cody Kessler in Week 3.

We may not know much about Browns quarterback Cody Kessler right now, but we’ll likely learn a lot about him in the coming weeks. Unless he gets injured.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Josh McCown has a broken collarbone in his left (non-throwing) arm.

The fracture isn’t displaced. He nevertheless continues to be out indefinitely.

McCown finished last Sunday’s game with the injury, and he provided a moving explanation after the game regarding his willingness to play injured. The Browns need his influence on Kessler or whoever is playing quarterback, and the NFL needs more people in it like Josh McCown.

For now, the Browns need Kessler to step up quickly, because McCown and Robert Griffin III won’t be back, for a while.
