Cowboys coach Jason Garrett didn’t rule out receiver Dez Bryant for Sunday’s game at San Francisco. Then again, Garrett didn’t initially rule out quarterback Tony Romo for Week One, even though he had a broken back.

But Bryant, like Romo, likely will be out for the Week Four game against the 49ers. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Bryant could miss up to three weeks with a hairline fracture in his knee.

With Romo and likely Bryant out for Sunday, that’s bad news for the Cowboys. As noted by Gil Brandt of NFL.com, the Cowboys are 0-6 since 2014 when they don’t have Romo or Bryant.

In other words, it’s a great opportunity for quarterback Dak Prescott to show that he deserves to be the team’s starter, regardless of whether Romo is healthy.
