There were some boos for the Cardinals offense over the course of the first half of Sunday’s game against the Rams, but they were replaced by cheers just before halftime.

Carson Palmer completed 6-of-8 passes for 80 yards on Arizona’s final possession of the first half, including a five-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Michael Floyd with 24 seconds left in the half. That score tied the game at 10 and put a positive end note on what was a frustrating first 30 minutes for the Cardinals.

Palmer threw an interception in the end zone, the Rams hit several passing plays for long gains and penalties helped create scoring chances for Los Angeles while taking them away from the home team. There were good signs for the Cardinals along the way with 89 rushing yards on 13 carries and eight catches for John Brown, but none of it amounted to much before that final drive.

The Rams never got Todd Gurley going, but Case Keenum was 9-of-14 for 159 yards and a touchdown to get the Rams moving despite the lack of traction on the ground. They’ll try to get that going while putting the clamps back on the Cardinals offense when action resumes in Arizona.
