49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the extent of the injury he suffered in the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys, PFT has learned.
Bowman was carted to the locker room after suffering a non-contact injury. He appeared to clutch at the back of his ankle as he went down to the turf.
Bowman missed the entire 2014 season after suffering a gruesome knee injury in the NFC Championship Game following the 2013 season. He’s one of the 49ers’ best and most important players, and if his injury is significant it will be a major blow to an already struggling team.
Bowman, 28, is a three-time All-Pro. He has started all four games this season.
