Rex Ryan claims he knew Jacoby Brissett was starting

Maybe Rex Ryan wasn’t pretending to be a reporter, after all.

Four days after he pretended to be “Walt Patulski of the Buffalo News” to pose a question to Patriots receiver Julian Edelman during a media conference call, Ryan said after a 16-0 win that his pregame sleuthing had paid off.

“My sources inside the Patriots building told me Jacoby Brissett would be the QB,” Ryan told reporters, via Matthew Fairburn of New York Upstate. “How’s that? I’ll stir some stuff up.”

It’s unclear whether Ryan was joking, but the Patriots likely wouldn’t put anything past him. The stunt with Edelman surely ruffled feathers, and there’s strong suspicion that Sunday’s pregame antics between safety Robert Blanton and Brissett were instigated by Ryan.

Regardless, circle October 30. That’s when the rematch happens in Buffalo.

NFL needs this kind of hype right now to pump up the ratings. Hope there will be some substance with that with the re-match.

Obviously Rex doesn’t have an inside source in Foxboro. He’s either just totally joking around or the Bills medical people told him that it was very unlikely that Garappolo would be ready for the game with the type of injury he had. He’s just trying to get under the skin of the long list of people who can’t stand him, and it’s obviously working

Let’s face it, his sources are a discarded hot dog wrapper left in the corner of the Patriots locker room.

Ryan’s fixation on all things Patriots is weird. His team played well he should be happy and just move on. It’ll be interesting to see how they play at LA next week.

The guy is 5-11 against the Patriots and it will probably be 5-12 after they play again when Brady is back with a healthier Gronk.

Not a Pats fan but if Belicheck pulled a stunt like Rex did on media day the would would implode. Rex should be fined for that.

Let’s not start engraving the Bills names on the Lombardi Trophy just yet :

    10/9 @Rams
    10/16 vs 49ers
    10/23 @ Dolphins
    10/30 vs Patriots
    11/7 @Seahawks
    11/20 @ Bengals

They’ll be lucky to go 3-3

Good job Rex, way to step up. You definitely put your best foot forward. You had the Pats on their heels all day. Good to see you on your toes today. Now go forth and keep your feet on the ground.

  17. factpurveyor says: Oct 2, 2016 5:27 PM

Ha ha!…..The Patriots only have the 2 best quarterbacks in the league on their roster.
The third string rookie is still below average.

Ha ha! The Patriots are only 3 & 0 after the NFL cheated them out of a 1st round draft pick and forced Brady to miss 25% of the 2016 season. And their 2nd string QB was injured.

Now would be a good time for the NFL to release the PSI information that was collected during the 2015 season. Since Brady already missed the 4 games.

  18. Ferdinand says: Oct 2, 2016 5:27 PM

Who thought someone else would be starting? No one I’ve heard talking about the game all week.

I love the Bills – just HATE Rex Ryan, but he waltzed into
Foxborough & did the unthinkable….so I guess I’ll have to hear his crowing a little while longer!
After watching this game it was like pouring more gasoline on the “Dumpster Fire” that – right now is my Dolphins !!

Not a Pats or Bills fan…but to hear those spoiled Pats fan booing one of the best franchises in NFL history-you never hear Bills fans booing even though they have been mediocre for 16 yrs…the Bills showed the league- the Pats are simply average w/out Brady…Hey Pats fans…Mediocrity on line 1.

  33. dodgerlakerfan1969 says: Oct 2, 2016 6:23 PM

Belichick is a genius. LOL. He gets shut out by a sorry Bills team. His system wins regardless, right? If your players don’t play great it doesn’t matter how well you coach. The most overrated coach ever. He is now 18-19 with the Patriots without Brady. 5-13 with Bledsoe, 10-5 with Cassel and 3-1 with Jimmy and Jacoby. Not even .500. How impressive. Lol

  34. superpatriotsfan says: Oct 2, 2016 6:24 PM

So where are the Pats homers saying this was a pre season game for them? Looks like the Pats out there were all indeed 3rd stringers LOL

  35. demons87 says: Oct 2, 2016 6:26 PM

I would think an investigation to see if Rex truly has a spy in another teams building would be appropriate as an integrity of the game issue. If found guilty, rather than losing draft picks, I think the Bills should have to keep Ryan for a few more playoffless years.

Bills fans should know as well as anyone that you can’t win in the NFL, or even look good losing, without reasonable quality QB play. A 3rd string QB with torn thumb ligaments on his throwing hand, and a wide receiver backup QB won’t cut it. You can only hide that for so long. Rather than cut a quality player to sign another QB, they sucked it up and went with what they had, to live and fight another day.

It should be noted they get a healthy QB back on the roster this week.

  37. oiler1980 says: Oct 2, 2016 6:30 PM

A classy Patriots fan is going to say congrats to all the Bills fans who just watched and enjoyed a good win.

An opinionated and angry Pats fan is going to say how can you brag about beating us without Brady. Just keep your mouth shut and enjoy it.

A curious Pats fan will point to the pre game scuffle that appears to be designed to ruffle their 3rd string starting QB’s feathers. On purpose? By Rexx? The league will look into it…

    Right!!

I am none and all of the above.

So congrats Bills, enjoy the moment. Brady and the offensive playbook are now open for business.

And by beating BB, the Bills now have a reason to keep Rex as their head coach for a few more years.

I can live with that…And 3-1….And the future.

    Go Pats!!!

  38. manureman says: Oct 2, 2016 6:32 PM

Hey Kubiak is winning with a rookie qb today he must be a wizard too, right pats fans?

  39. raymondmac says: Oct 2, 2016 6:35 PM

The Pats lost, played badly, and a couple key players got hurt to boot.

    Not fun to watch.

sometimes a kick in the pants knocks cobwebs off your approach.

    Best of luck next week!

  40. patsruleyou says: Oct 2, 2016 6:59 PM

If BB said he had inside info on the status of another teams projected starting player there would be a $5mil investigation and loss of draft picks but because it’s the bills nobody cares.

Big Mouth Rex is blabbing his big mouth again. It’s okay, though. Let him talk. You don’t win anything in October.

He’ll find out come playoff time that this win was just a mirage.

So what you’re saying is…The Patriots win because of Brady? I don’t think your fellow Pats haters will approve since they’re all on the “Brady is a system QB” train right now

  46. fishyinalittledishy says: Oct 3, 2016 2:17 PM

Oh dear Rex. Just win and go away and don’t ruffle any feathers. Try to keep a low profile. My team sprang the wildcat on this bunch and now we get a good old pumleing every time we step into that place with Brady or not. Bill bares a grudge which lasts forever.

  47. westcoastbillsfan says: Oct 3, 2016 6:39 PM
