Running back Kerwynn Williams will sign with the Cardinals, his agent wrote on Twitter Monday.
Williams played in 11 games over the past two seasons for the Cardinals. His return comes a day after veteran running back Chris Johnson was injured in a loss to the Rams and needed an MRI to determine the extent of his injuries.
The Cardinals released Williams in early September when they trimmed their roster to the regular season size of 53. A seventh round pick of the Colts in 2013, he played one game for the Colts and one for the Chargers in his rookie season before landing in Arizona.
Williams, 25, had his only career rushing touchdown last season.
