Vikings capitalize on turnover, go up 7-0

CHARLOTTE, NC - SEPTEMBER 25: Matt Asiata #44 of the Minnesota Vikings runs the ball against Luke Kuechly #59 of the Carolina Panthers in the 1st quarter during their game at Bank of America Stadium on September 25, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Vikings got a gift when Dwayne Harris of the Giants muffed a punt following their first series, and they turned that into the game’s first touchdown.

The Vikings had gone three and out after starting inside their own 5-yard line. After Marcus Sherels recovered the muffed punt, they went 41 yards in six plays and Matt Asiata scored on a short touchdown run.

The Vikings are really good defensively, and the Giants are going to have to earn everything they get offensively. The Giants have already been hurt by penalties and though they’ve had a little success running the ball with emergency starting running back Orleans Darkwa, they’ve punted on their first two possessions.

G-men got a gift on the missed PI call on the deep ball to Theilen.

Vikes D-line is throwing Giants rb around like a rag doll!

See the Vikings brought their refs!

    You mean your refs

notice that the packers are in 2nd place?

Another ticky-tack pass interference call in the end zone leads to a gift td. Refs are terrible as usual, in fact the one guy looks like he is about 80

Question, do the Vikings have to play anyone even marginally good this year?

  8. leatherface2012 says: Oct 3, 2016 9:33 PM

make that 14-0!!! yep as much as some fans in a certain state wont admit it, the vikings are for real, without bridgewater and peterson. i think thats a huge thing to overcome

Odell Hair Dye is a punk.

Well, hopefully their clueless fans have put in their time practicing when and when not to cheer.
You know, so their QB can audible and doesn’t have to resort to a silent count at home.
It will save you from getting chewed out by your own players again.

Rumor has it that the Wilfs were nice enough to send every season ticket holder a copy of, Football Cheering Etiquette for Dummies.
Maybe this will help, though I doubt it.

    skoLOL!!!

The Vikings are for real, and a big part of the reason (outside of their defense) is because Bridgewater is gone and they have an actual NFL QB.

frank booth I thought Sam Bradford was starting?

So far we have played and won against the Titans, Packers, and Panthers.

So no, we haven’t played a team that’s marginally good.

  14. coltluger says: Oct 3, 2016 9:54 PM

I see the packer trolls show their corpulent faces. That wasn’t predictable at all . . .

At the beginning of the year, this was considered the “hard” part of the Vikings schedule: Green Bay, Carolina, NYG, Houston. Unless the Eagles or Cowboys are for real, or Arizona bounces back, the rest of the schedule is mediocre or worse.

  16. coltluger says: Oct 3, 2016 9:57 PM

I’m sure we could get four first rounders from Chicago for Shawn Hill. The Bears are a dumpster fire, as is Mr. Clairvoyant.

The Vikings are looking good tonight, aren’t they people?!

  19. frank booth says: Oct 3, 2016 10:02 PM

The Bears already have a back-up in Brian Hoyer. They do some dumb things, but trading for Shawn Hill won’t be one of them. No one is trading for Shawn Hill. Ever.

If the Vikings keep Bradford, maybe they can fleece someone by trading Bridgewater for a 4th or 5th-round pick.

  20. coltluger says: Oct 3, 2016 10:04 PM

They need to keep the pressure on Eli – I think the G-Men’s line has done a good job so far tonight.

  21. frank booth says: Oct 3, 2016 10:05 PM

The NFC looks weak so far. At this early point, the Vikings look like the favorite in the NFC.

  22. coltluger says: Oct 3, 2016 10:05 PM

That stadium is easily the best in the NFC north. Vikings fans deserve it.

  23. skolvikes says: Oct 3, 2016 10:25 PM

First off, why is a Bears fan posting multiple times in a Vikings v Giants article? Your team is a dumpster fire.

    17-3 Vikings.

When your defense scares a 2 time winning super bowl QB into throwing into the dirt anytime we get near him, you know you’re good.

  24. frank booth says: Oct 3, 2016 10:43 PM

It is the best indoor stadium in the NFC North.

I’ll bet the Wilf’s could’ve sprung for a retractable roof had they not had to pay fines for breaking RICO laws and their fraud and dirty bookkeeping in order to screw their business partners in New Jersey. Mark and Zygi should be in prison, not running a football team.

Fair-weather Minnesota fans deserved the dome. The Vikings new mall is very cool looking, but I’m sure that it will lack character like every other cookie-cutter indoor stadium. However, the Vikings get dressed in the bathroom of and paraded out through Applebee’s before and after games. How cool is that?

You know, those big outdoorsman Minnesotans. They love to brave the cold. Can they build a dome for hunting and fishing, too?

Looks like the Bears are in midseason form. We already have one of their fans looking to bring others down to their low level and it’s only Week 4.

At least the Wilfs care about building a winning organization, unlike the McCaskeys. Nobody in that family cares about winning, only the bottom dollar. They’re happy to screw the fans out of their money for a woefully sub par product. That sad sack team hasn’t had an owner that’s wanted to build a quality organization since George Halas was alive.

Funny when a *cough* *cough* Bears fan, that shows far more love for the Packers than his own team, calls people that have stayed true to their team, through Red McCombs (probably a worse owner than Virgina), Mike Tice, Brad Childress and Leslie Frazier. Especially since most “Bears fans” are now saying “who cares? We have the Hawks and Cubbies to watch now”.

Some sour tears in this thread from franky and waffles.

Guys, given the situation that both of your teams are in (Chicago is a tire fire, packers are past their prime and not even playing this week) and given the fact that the Vikings are 4-0, your “trash talking” sounds more like a sad cry for help.

Maybe it’s time to just head to bed and start over again tomorrow.

Yeah, I agree. Laying it on a bit thick there.

I actually like Minnesotans. I went to the U, one of my kids goes there, wife is from there, have a lot of close friends from St. Thomas and U of M.
