The Jaguars have lost Luke Joeckel for at least half the season.

Joeckel has been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury he suffered Sunday at Wembley Field against the Colts. Under the NFL’s new rules, the Jaguars can decide in six weeks whether to bring him back after Week 12, or shut him down for the season.

The Outland Trophy winner as the best lineman in college football at Texas A&M, Joeckel went to the Jaguars with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL draft. But he was a disappointment as a left tackle and has played left guard this season.

Patrick Omameh took Joeckel’s place as the left guard on Sunday.
