Mike Pouncey returns to practice

The Dolphins made some changes to their starting lineup for last Thursday’s game against the Bengals and it looks like they may have another one coming soon.

Unlike the decision to put cornerback Byron Maxwell on the bench, this one won’t be related to an underperforming starter.

Center Mike Pouncey said, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, that he will practice on Tuesday. Pouncey has been sidelined by a hip injury since the middle of August and was replaced in the starting lineup by Anthony Steen, although Steen missed last Thursday’s loss to the Bengals with an ankle injury.

The Dolphins also played without left tackle Branden Albert in that game, leaving with a makeshift group up front as they fell to 1-3. Avoiding 1-4 would be made easier if both Albert and Pouncey are in the lineup against the Titans this Sunday, although the team will likeky spend a couple of days making sure the center is ready to go after an extended layoff.

    thank you miami

for allowing us to get to 8th pick, which enabled the franchise changing wentz trade.

The fins still got Tunsil, a top pick, and Kiko, who’s done well, Maxwell not so much. When the tape gets out on Wentz, he’ll come back to earth.

Thank you for Kiko Alonzo. He cost $900K and has plays well. We still got the #1 talent in Tunsil at 14 and Maxwell is owed nothing next year after he is cut saving the Dolphins another $3.8M against the Cap. I like Wentz, but too soon to tell if he is going to the Hall of Fame.

  4. I see the negative fools are out in force, however it wouldn’t be so bad if they knew what they were talking about. Bill

  5. I see my points have already been made by 2 other dolphin fans. But how does that trade have anything to do with this article? 3 wins and already spewing crap on other teams articles like patriot fans…

  6. Pouncey has heart! It will good to see him on the field. However, he is injury prone and playing on guts not hips. Albert is injury prone, as well. I think I would keep the rookie at Left tackle and have Albert play the left guard slot. Pouncey playing gives Steen time to heal. Right Tackle and guard are still weak links but could improve with time and continuous competition.

We don’t have a full back or a versatile TE. Gase has got to let the Running backs stay in long enough to get warmed up. Leave the hot guy in there till he drops. Tannehill has got to be given more running responsibility! 19 points a game don’t cut it! Stop the damned turnovers!

Defense is going to continue costing us the games. The offense can’t make 3rd downs so the defense gets really tired. The Corners suck when they are rested. Alonso should be a 3rd down linebacker, if there is such a thing! He is just too small. Misi is a loser because he is lazy. The DL is okay but not dominating. Can we beat the Titans? Where is Dan Campbell when you need him?

  7. As a Dolphins fan,

The push for 8-8 truly begins now.

I’d rather go 4-12 and draft Watson or Keizer, but they have a real coach now so that won’t happen.
