After making 18 tackles and also recording a sack and a forced fumble, Bills linebacker Zach Brown was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Brown’s big game in a shutout at New England brought the fifth-year linebacker his first weekly NFL award. His 18 tackles were both a career best and the most by any player leaguewide last week.
Brown also was credited with two forced fumbles, including one of Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett in the red zone that helped preserve the Bills’ first shutout in New England since 1993.
The sack and the forced fumbles were the first of the season for Brown.
