DeForest Buckner, Jimmie Ward out for 49ers on Thursday

The 49ers defense won’t have to deal with Carson Palmer at quarterback for the Cardinals on Thursday night, but they will be charged with stopping Drew Stanton and the rest of the offense without a few key players.

Defensive lineman DeForest Buckner and cornerback Jimmie Ward have both been ruled out for the game. Buckner injured his foot late last Sunday in a loss to the Cowboys. The 2016 first-round pick has logged the most snaps of any 49ers defensive lineman so far this season.

Ward is out for the second straight game with a quad injury. Rashard Robinson saw more snaps in Ward’s absence last week and will likely see a bigger role again on Thursday.

Linebacker Navorro Bowman is also listed as out as the 49ers haven’t put him on injured reserve with the torn Achilles that ended his season. Defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley and tight end Vance McDonald are all listed as questionable.

Won’t make a difference. I was reading an article on a local sports website that said it perfectly

“It’s not that the 49ers don’t possess talent but that Trent Baalke has refused to draft talent at key positions”. This team is doomed for the foreseeable future until we can get a new GM and or owner.

It won’t make a difference, we don’t have the roster to compete with even a injury ridden Arizona team.

A local sports article said it best “It’s not that the 49ers lack talent but that Trent Baalke has refused to draft talent at key positions”. We are doomed for the foreseeable future until we get a new GM and or owner.

New name for tomorrow night’s game: Turdsday Night Football. The TV ratings for it will be questionable, as well.

I really hope DeForest Buckner’s teammates refer to him as Bones.

Even the SF market won’t tune in. They go from seeing legendary greatness on the diamond last night and now have garbage to look forward to on the gridiron?

No thanks, I’d rather clean the gutters.
