The 49ers have activated outside linebacker Aaron Lynch in time for Thursday night’s game vs. the Cardinals.
Lynch’s four-game suspension ended this past Monday, and he had participated in practice this week on a roster exemption. Lynch has played in 30 games, starting 14, over his first two seasons, and last year shared the team lead with 6.5 sacks.
To create a roster spot, Pro Bowl linebacker NaVorro Bowman was placed on injured reserve. Bowman was injured in last Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys, and further testing revealed a torn Achilles tendon.
