Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is “unlikely” to play Sunday vs. the Bengals, NFL Network reported Thursday.
Though the report said Bryant plans to test his injured knee in practice on Friday, the expectation is that he’ll miss at least one more game.
Bryant missed last week’s win at San Francisco and has sat out both practices this week. Bryant is dealing with a hairline fracture in his knee but wasn’t ruled out of last week’s game until the Cowboys submitted their inactive list 90 minutes before kickoff.
If he gets some work in on Friday, that could mean he’s on schedule for return even if he’s not quite ready for game action. Earlier in the week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he thought Bryant could get some work in Friday and that the team would know more about his status then.
