Sometimes when you’re trying to relax on your day off, you just can’t beak going out for some wings with your buddies.

But Packers tight end Jared Cook got something he didn’t expect when he went out to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Cook turned thousands of stomachs today when he tweeted out an image of a surprise he got in his order on Tuesday.

I’m neither a chef nor a poultry expert, but that is absolutely not a wing, and now the people who ought to know better are looking into it.

According to Richard Ryman of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, a manager confirmed that Cook ate at the Ashwaubenon location on South Oneida Street, but sent reporters to the corporate headquarters for comment. Their executives, clearly running around like, well, chickens with their heads cut off, deferred to PR firm FleishmanHillard.

“Buffalo Wild Wings takes food preparation, service and quality extremely seriously and we are looking into this situation,” their statement read. “We’ve reached out to Jared Cook and our suppliers for more information.”

Cook later tweeted to the Wilde and Tausch Show on ESPNWisconsin that the restaurant told him “unfortunately this happens because the chicken is fresh.”

Frankly, it’s easy to be grossed out by a stray deep-fried chicken head. Or, you could consider it an adventure. Frankly, this has all kinds of possibilities, and as much as anything, I want to eat Christmas dinner with Cook and order the duck now.
