The Rams set up their game-winning touchdown against the Cardinals in Week Four with a long punt return by Tavon Austin in the fourth quarter.

Austin returned a Ryan Quigley punt 47 yards to the Cardinals’ 34-yard-line before he was wrestled down by tight end Ifeanyi Momah. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, Momah used Austin’s facemask to bring him to the ground and the Rams got 15 more yards to use on their way to Brian Quick’s touchdown catch.

Unfortunately for Momah, the league determined that his foul was deserving of additional punishment in the form of a fine. PFT has confirmed with the league that Momah has been fined $9,115 for the infraction.

Rams linebacker Mark Barron was not fined for a late hit on Cardinals running back Chris Johnson early in the game and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was not fined for hitting Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer low on the fourth quarter play that ended with Palmer in the concussion protocol. Barron was penalized and Donald wasn’t, although Cardinals coach Bruce Arians seemed upset with the hit on the sideline during the game.
