Raiders rule out Latavius Murray

Earlier this week, there was a report that Raiders running back Latavius Murray was unlikely to play against the Chargers this weekend and it proved to be on the money.

The Raiders ruled out Murray on Friday after he missed the entire week of practice due to a toe injury. It will be the first game that Murray has missed since the 2014 season.

With Murray out of the lineup, the Raiders will go with a pair of rookies in the backfield. Fifth-round pick DeAndre Washington has run 23 times for 147 yards so far this season and Jalen Richard, who was undrafted, has 144 yards on 17 carries, so it should be interesting to see how they do with an expanded workload.

Of course, the Raiders may opt to throw the ball a bit more come Sunday. The Chargers placed cornerback Jason Verrett on injured reserve and cornerback Brandon Flowers has been ruled out due to a concussion.

we’ll miss angry tay, but I’m excited to see what the rooks can do.

This match up will be much tougher than the win-loss records suggest. Chargers are better than us in just about every stat category other than turn overs and wins.

Go Raiders! Give the rookies a try…..just don’t fumble!

We got enough horses in the stable to dance to the record when it’s on the turntable.

The Chargers are a bad team but divisional matches are always tough so I hope that the Raiders don’t let up or it could be a trap game.

When will the raiders play a good team this year? Oh yeah, you played Atlanta.

Oliwale gets the goal line reps and the beat goes on. Not a big deal.

Yeah the Ravens and Saints are terrible teams. Are you even paying attention?

Well babygaga, at least the Raiders have beaten the Ravens who are now 3-1. On the other hand, every one of the teams that Denver has beaten so far this year has a losing record.

Air it out all day, just like the old wild west games.

Philip is always dangerous. I just hope either Howard or McCants can play RT this week. Alexander has dead feet and a nervous tick.
