Patriots officially activate Tom Brady, Rob Ninkovich

Jimmy Garoppolo, Tom Brady, Rob Ninkovich AP

The Patriots have made the necessary roster move to have their two previously suspended players on the field tomorrow.

Tom Brady and Rob Ninkovich have been activated from the exempt/commissioner’s permission list to the 53-man roster, the final step in getting them back from their four-game suspensions.

Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season for Deflategate, while Ninkovich was suspended for a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Both players will be on the field tomorrow against the Browns.

If Networks wanted a ratings boost, they’d broadcast Brady’s first game nationally.
    Stupid is as stupid does.

PS…..why NFL owners have chosen Roger Goodell to be the public face of their league is beyond baffling.
Tune in to “Roger Goodell’s NFL” every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday and enjoy the 100+ commercials each game has to offer. And for fans at the game, enjoy $12 beers, $60 parking, and TV timeouts that make the 11 minutes of real action feel like 3.5 hours.

What does that even mean? Did Goodell release the data from all the testing they did last year to you? Can you let the rest of us know since he didn’t tell anyone else (I wonder why that is).

Also, 3 of the 4 colts balls they tested were under the legal limit and there is this thing called the ideal gas law that every scientist in the world insists is, in fact, a law, but I am sure you are right that it only happens in New England.

Those of you who insist at every turn that Brady cheated are aligned with morons like this. Does that ever make you pause for a moment to actually think about the actual facts?

Like someone else said the colts had deflated balls as well but only the Pats were penalized. So, to answer your question; the only reasonable answer would be that Goodell & Kensil don’t understand 7th grade science and after it was revealed that the balls deflated due to weather/temperature they had to do something to save face.

Rip Van Winkle here just woke up from his stupor!

The Well$ Report, 2 court hearings, science, and common sense all proved those footballs deflated naturally just like the psi in tires, basketballs, and footballs everywhere when it gets cold.

Roger admitted at the end that Deflategate was no longer about Brady or the footballs. It was about his power to be able to suspend anyone for any reason. Guilty or not…

Saying something over and over again doesn’t make it a fact. A bunch of petty, jelous fans who wish their teams were as consistently successful as the pats calling them cheaters does not make them “tainted”. It makes them envied.

You know it’s true but you’ll never admit it so keep the 3rd grade insults coming. Brady and the pats will just keep winning.

    ==================
Patriots fans don’t say that he’s innocent. We say that there is no evidence that he (or anyone else) did anything wrong.

That’s not an opinion. That’s scientifically established fact.

“Why he got suspended then?” Is that your question?

Perhaps you should be more careful (and perform a grammar check) before you claim that someone else is “dumb.”

Meanwhile maximum focus on the game at hand. GOAT.

Here’s a true story. I was at Costco waiting in line to pay and in front of me was two employees ringing and boxing items. It was on a Sunday and both were wearing NFL jerseys. The Cowboy fan whispers to the Patriots fan “well at least my teams doesn’t cheat”. The Patriots fan whispers back “Jerry Jones is a loser and Romo is an overrated bum.” I thought I was at two junior high kids. Unfortunately both of these guys were in their late thirties or early forties. Most of you lame NFL fans are a step away from the WWF fans. I feel sorry for your wives and girlfriends. 57. spillertime21 says: Oct 8, 2016 7:25 PM

    Ok here are some facts:
    Brady destroyed his cellphone.

The Pats had an employee on their payroll affectionately known as the deflator (who the Pats actually tried to say they call him the deflator because he was trying to lose weight.) The deflator texted another employee of the Pats saying that Brady was driving him crazy about the air pressure in the balls and said he would “blow them up like F’ing ballons” if Brady didn’t stop whining about the balls.

Is that concrete proof? No. Is it circumstantial that makes it look like it’s more probable than not that Brady cheated? Yes.

If he had nothing to hide he would have cooperated and not destroyed his cell. And that way he wouldn’t have had to use the lame excuse that he did it because he and his wife are celebrities and it’s common practice for celebrities to do so.

Another fact is that pats fans booed their team off the field against the bills on Sunday & 75% of the “die hards” left the stadium mid way thru the 4th qtr.

  62. jstamper3377 says: Oct 8, 2016 7:42 PM

in the wells report, wells himself said Brady cooperated “fully”. He had already told Brady he didn’t need to turn over the phone. It is a red herring thrown in after they realized they had screwed up.

In the same report they stated after the jets game Brady complained the balls were like balloons. He asked what the legal range was and when told he told them to bring the rule book into the refs locker in the future and tell them he wanted them at 12.5.

After that same jets game jastremski texted his wife and said Tom was right, the balls were way overinflated at 16 psi. He said the refs screwed them, the balls should have been 13 psi.

Those texts with jastremskis wife are the only texts in the entire investigation that refer to ball psi, and he said they were supposed to be at 13.

Yeah, quite a conspiracy. I know if I am going to illegally tamper with the balls I’d tell my co conspirators to first bring the rule book to the refs.

In the case of deflate gate, there are just so many people that love to call the pats cheaters and when challenged prove they know nothing about the facts beyond a few headlines that the nfl fed to ESPN to shape public perception.

I’m sure there are some who know the facts and still think they are guilty, but you would have a hard time finding many based on these comments.

After he retired former NFL pro bowl QB Jeff Blake, who played for the Jets, Bengals, Saints, Ravens, Cardinals, Eagles and Bears admitted during a radio interview on Nashville 104.5 The Zone that he ordered ball boys to let the air out of his footballs just before the game throughout his NFL career. He played from 1992 to 2005.

“Cause when you take the balls out of the bag, they are rock hard. And you can’t feel the ball as well. It’s too hard. Everybody puts the pin in and takes just enough air out of the ball that you can feel it a little better. But it’s not the point to where it’s flat. So I don’t know what the big deal is. It’s not something that’s not been done for 20 years.”

The NFL never investigated any of these teams. They never fined any of these teams. They never penalized any of them by removing draft picks.

Not to mention the Colts balls being deflated and the league stopped getting the readings on their balls and ignored them so they could crucify the Pats and protect the Colts. That’s called a double standard by the way. Which you, like all the Pats haters have in common and invalidates any complaint you have about them.

What exactly can Brady do in the Patriots system that Jimmy G. and Brissette can’t do? Are there any throws that only Brady can make? If anything McDaniels and Belichick opened up the playbook more with the mobility of both Jimmy G. and Brissette and their superior arm strength.

    ——————————————————————
Forget the deflator nicknames, destroyed cell phones, bathroom breaks, etc.

It comes down to 0.2psi difference in footballs. So people who believe Brady is guilty of tampering or sanctioning the tampering of footballs actually believe it was all for 0.2 psi which is barely even measurable.

    Really?

Astonishing someone could be so gullible and stupid. Get real, it was only the fact that the NFL didn’t know about 7th grade science and when they got exposed they had to do all they could to save face.

When Brady cheats it will be the first time.

A few problems wit the NFL comparing the PSI drops in the Colts footballs to those of the Patriots:

The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the Colts footballs were allowed to warm up indoors while the Patriots footballs were being measured twice.

The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the footballs of the 2 teams were treated differently during the game. The Colts footballs were being kept dry in a bag for much of the 1st half while the Patriots footballs were getting rained on.
Evaporative cooling makes things that are wet get colder. This would make a more significant drop in PSI.

It is also known that when leather gets wet it can stretch. Tests have shown that leather footballs can increase in volume up to 3%. This means that the same amount of air is now held in a larger container. That’s another way for PSI to drop in addition to the drop from the lower temperature.

The NFL didn’t consider the fact that the Colts were the visiting team. This means that their footballs were outside prior to being measured system. The NFL is now committed to the farce and is keeping the PSI information secret that they collected during the 2015 season because it shows what those that understand science before the game started. This means that they would have been colder and would not drop in temperature as much and lose as much PSI.

So without considering any of these differences and without understanding the IGL and with a conclusion already made the NFL went after the Patriots using the media as a weapon. Broadcasting red herring about a text message and a replaced telephone to distract people from the fact that nobody let any air out of footballs.

Once the NFL realized that they were wrong they doubled down on stupid and abused the court system. The NFL is now committed to the farce and is keeping the PSI information secret that they collected during the 2015 season because it shows what those that understand science already know. Footballs always lose PSI when taken outdoors on cold days.

Fireroger, even a 7th grader would never have based their findings on human recollection. They would have known that Anderson was mistaken about which gage he actually used.
    _________________________________

It isn’t necessary to rely on Anderson’s memory. Exponent’s report includes all the data required to prove which gauge was used to measure psi prior to the AFCCG.

We know the Patriots footballs were inflated to 13 psi by game officials after psi measurements had been taken and recorded at halftime. Based on Exponent’s game day simulation, we know that inflation occurred between 8 minutes and 12 minutes into the halftime. Finally, we know the post-game psi measurements for four Patriots’ footballs and four Colts’ footballs.

Let’s assume inflation took place 10 minutes into halftime. Using Exponent’s transient curve for wet footballs (see Figure 22 in Exponent’s report), we can calculate that the Patriots’ footballs had reached 64 degrees at the time they were inflated. Using Gay-Lussac’s Law and the Non-Logo Gauge readings, we can calculate that the post-game temperature of the footballs was 64.3 degrees when they were measured.

We can use the post-game measurements of the Colts’ footballs to calculate what their psi would be once they reached the pre-game locker room temperature of 69 degrees. The average post-game pressure of the Colts’ footballs was 12.35 psi with the Non-Logo Gauge. So, at 69 degrees the Colt’s footballs would measure 12.54 psi. With the Logo-Gauge, they would measure 12.9 psi once they reach the pre-game locker room temperature of 69 degrees.

The Colt’s footballs will never return to their pre-game pressure level at their pre-game temperature with the Non-Logo Gauge. Only with the Logo Gauge do the Colts’ footballs return to their pre-game pressure level. This proves Walter Anderson was right about the gauge used prior to the AFCCG. He used the Logo Gauge.

    —————————————————————–

I believe that the poster speaks on behalf of all patriot haters when he suggests that 49 degrees on an outdoor NFL football field is different than 49 degrees that can be found in a refrigerator.

Meaning that if its 49 degrees outside and its 49 degrees in a refrigerator and you put a glass of water in the refrigerator and a second glass of water outside on the football field the 2 glasses of water will not both go to 49 degrees. Only the glass of water that’s in the refrigerator will go to 49 degrees. The glass of water on the NFL football field will remain at room temperature.

The cold temperatures on football fields are a special kinds of temperatures that can only be found on NFL football fields. So a refrigerator must never be used to simulate cold temperatures in science experiments involving NFL footballs when patriot hater doesn’t like the result of the experiment.

I’m sure that patriot haters also believe that water from a sink is a different formula than rain water. So getting the footballs wet with water that’s not rain water collected on an NFL field would also be invalid. Tap water or bottled water are H2O while NFL field rain water is some other formula.

Patriot haters must never allow pesky science to get in the way of patriot hater writing buzzwords about cheaters or cheating. Logic and reason and facts can’t beat patriot haters when patriot hater repeats their own interpretation and skewed recollection of tabloid headlines.

Patriot haters say that any science that makes the patriots look innocent cannot be trusted. Patriot haters know that all Patriot fans are homers while all patriot haters are always unbiased and open minded. Patriot haters always wished success for patriots before footballs deflated. Only those in New England can believe that science on NFL football fields is the same as science in the rest of the universe. NFL football fields are exempt from science because patriot hater wants them to be.

PFT Cheaties fans are the least mature, most arrogant …
    ——————-
I prefer arrogance to ignorance. But with the get-a-life-already, whining trolls that have nothing better to do with their lives than post their inane drivel on PFT for EVERY NE-related post (you know who you are) being the latter, I wouldn’t expect those losers to understand the difference.

Your preference of arrogance is par for the course and fits the Patriot way ,but it’s ignorant to think you are better than everyone else …If you are better…be humble which is a mature quality of a secure person. Arrogance is a defense of your insecurities.

How sad. Poor old limakey and his buddy jchipwood and their gang of tools (or should my spell check have just left it alone as trolls) haven’t had a viable team to root for for decades. So they come to the erroraneous conclusion that Belichick cheats and Brady cheats and somehow Kraft must be in collusion. For how else would it be possible for the Patriots to be successful year in and year out, and their rancid teams continue to stink up the cellar.

“Oh, but, but didn’t you see my Bills shut out the Patriots at home. The first time in Belichick’s time as coach?” salivates limakey. Well no, I didn’t watch the game but yes I heard about it. But there is nothing there to see. You see limakey, if you just offered to bring your favorite tavern fellow carpers and nigglers to a science museum on occasion, you would find that even a drowning rat will make it to the surface of the barrel now and again. And on so very rare occasions, they may even stay on top long enough to appear victorious (much like a Broncos team winning the Superbowl). But down, down, down they fall back to the abyss where they are most comfortable. So nothing special of note was evidenced by that Bills victory.
But you see, for those of the abyss like the Bills, the associated perennial stench of that type necessarily changes basal DNA. So to that end, poor limakey, the condition is somewhat permanent. The losing mentality is now written into too many sections of too many chromosones to undergo a change.
Oh poor limakey. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, but there we have it.
Now be a good fellow and run along and tell jchipwood that no, Santa Claus will not be bringing him anything for Christmas this year either. And it has nothing to do with him being a misbehaving little boy. That’s just the way it is.

Funny how the air only deflates the ball pressure in New England.
    ============
Then there is really no reason not to release the PSI measurements from last year. Or replace the balls in Min. 😉

Limakey – the short answer to this is dismiss Anderson’s recollections completely then. That’s exactly what every 7th grader on the planet would do. Why cherry pick what to believe him on? We all know the reason why it was done.

Instead we have to get past his own recollection, the patently obvious physical distinctions between the gauges and a blatantly flawed scientific attempt by Exponent that doesn’t even include any gauges that emulate the gauge Anderson recalled using. If the monkeys that work the NFL took a second to compare the readings to the intercepted ball they would have quickly realized Anderson used the logo gauge since it read closer to the logo gauge than the non-logo gauge. Of course Brady still lied despite the fact that correct science proves nothing happened.
